Vykon provides peace of mind and cost savings for Montana State University

• The College is located on an 18-acre site about seven miles from the main MSU-Billings campus on the west side of town. Campus facilities include more than 110,000 square feet of classroom, laboratory, and, shop space.
• The College annually serves more than 500 full-time and part-time students. Professional training and continuing education classes are provided to an additional 1,000 individuals from many different industries annually.

• To replace outdated HVAC system and install a fully automated system for managing the school’s control devices. The college also wanted to more efficiently monitor and manage its energy usage and to be able to access the system via the Internet.

• The flexibility to access and control multi-vendor devices (using BACnet® and LonWorks® technologies) at any time, from any standard web browser, allowing the school to buy the most cost-efficient control devices—and integrate them into one system—in order to better control the school’s energy needs.
• With Vykon, the college now has 24-hour continuous monitoring of building controls, with alarming capabilities to alert the maintenance supervisor of any problems with the system.

• Cost-effective upgrading and automation of the college’s HVAC and other facilities maintenance systems.
• More than 20 percent decrease in the college’s monthly utility costs.
